INTRUDUCTION
The Institute of Social Psychology of Renmin University of China (ISPRUC) was founded in 1993. Among institutes of social psychology, it is the one with the longest history. Its research field emphasizes on social psychology, psychological measurement , counseling, economic psychology, environmental psychology and nationality research. The institute's main goal is conducting the highest professional standards theoretical and applied research and advancing knowledge in diverse areas of psychology through research and scholarly activities, to adapting to modern society's requirements.
ISPRUC has highly qualified faculty and research team, the faculty members are composed of 2 professors, 3 associate professors and 3 lectures. Among them, 70% have doctoral degree. Every year, ISPRUC has accepted several visiting scholars. The present director is Professor Sha Lianxiang, whose research field are social psychology and nationality research.
ISPRUC now can offer master and doctoral degrees. At present, more than 30 doctoral students and master students are enrolled. Since the Institute's foundation, more than 30 students get their degrees. Many of then are playing important and active role in Chinese psychology.
In recent years, the Institute has undertaken several National Social Science Foundation research projects and other related projects. Up to 2002, 14 books and translations, more than 100 papers have been published. The institute has established extensive cooperation with enterprises, entities and scholar organizations.
The institute's mission is to combine the scholar research with practical application ,promote the development of Chinese Psychology.
